Good value, excellent productApr 10, 2007
By Christine I bought these blocks for my two preschool children 3 years ago. Unit blocks are a wonderful way to explore early math concepts because they are related in size. Therefore they stack and balance very well. This particular set has a long thin piece that is excellent for creating bases and roofs. This piece doesn't exist in other sets I have looked at. The only comment I have is that they are made of rubber wood so they get little dents in them. They do not splinter or cause a safety issue. Enjoy!!

The longest lasting gift you'll ever buy!Dec 07, 2008
By T. Scoggins I bought these blocks off another website where they sell two 50pc sets together along with a little wooden bookshelf to store them in. I bought them about 2 years ago for my 4 and 6 year old girls. They have played with these blocks more than ANY other toy we've given them. They make Barbie houses out of them, roads for match box cars, etc. I am planning on keeping them a LONG time. They are also great for when company comes over. I would buy these again in an instant!

Great product!Jul 13, 2009
By Avid reader This set of blocks is very nice and sturdy. Also they are in a nice size easy for children to use. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a set of inexpensive blocks similar to those found in educational settings.
Excellent blocksMay 15, 2011
By vintagek We bought these for our daughter's second birthday. We wanted to start with a simple natural colored set of unit blocks so that we could expand with fun colored and different shaped blocks as she grows. These Plan Toys natural unit blocks are perfect. They are a great size for little people. There are not any pieces that we feel could pose a choking hazard. There is also a long thin block (that could act as a base) that I have never seen before in a set of blocks. The blocks are smooth and have no rough edges. As with all Plan Toys, there was minimal packaging, which is great!
Blocks are open ended, providing hours of imaginative play and creative development. We enjoy these blocks and would recommend them.
The first toy any toddler should haveJun 28, 2010
By Traci Yes, these are more expensive than other unit blocks. They can be found on sale occasionally on amazon or on other sites, but no matter what, are worth the price for these reasons:
1 - They are an open-ended toy, so the child must use his or her imagination. My 3 year old has made up stories this week with the blocks being ships on the ocean, he has built a zoo for his animals, and constructed a hospital for mommies to go "find new babies." This is so much better for his development than a toy that does the playing for him.
2 - Choosing this company means your money will go towards production that honors the earth and its people. Their workers are paid fairly and you do not have to worry that a child in another part of the world worked a sweatshop job to provide your child with a toy.
3 - They grow with the child, take on many uses, and can easily replace the need for many other toys - paying for themselves in my opinion. We play with these every day and have had them 6 months.
