Fun, Safe, and EducationalJan 03, 2010

I was so pleased with this purchase. My 5 year old daughter usually only likes imaginative play, but I like puzzles and games with rules. We finally found a compromise! She likes trying to figure out how to solve this puzzle because it is more freeform than other puzzles and she can make "pretty designs" by rearranging the blocks. Little does she know she is actually strategizing and learning! The only downside is that the wood on the bottom was split in a very unusual way by the 2nd day. I asked her what happened and she showed me that if you flip the base over it becomes a snowboard! AHA. How clever. We have since discussed that this is NOT a snowboard and it seems to be holding up just fine. I've always been very pleased with the construction quality of Plan Toys and approve of their source materials.
