Great toy for master builders!Aug 07, 2006
By momof2boys My five year old just got this toy, and eagerly put the first item in the booklet together. It is a bit more challenging than some of his other building toys, but he did very well (just a little help needed), and is so excited by the set. Our bucket is labeled "5-8" and I would say that is appropriate, if you have a child who loves mechanical/building toys. I expect him to grow with the toy - follow the booklet for now (instructions for 6 models, with 4 "suggestions") and as he gets older, create his own models. Great for hours of fun!
Challenge for the imaginationJan 26, 2007

My 6 year old grandaughter really likes her new toy. With help from her daddy they have constructed, amoung other things, a ferris wheel and a hot air balloon. Our son and daughter-in-law are delighted that she is away from the video games and instead using her own imagination. It is also a great tool for developing her small motor skills.
Erector fun fair bucket construction setJan 09, 2007
By DEANN GLOVER My grandson has complained that when he builds the ferris wheel per the directions it doesn't stand up and falls over. He is very disappointed that there is a problem. He loves carnival rides and at 5 years of age is afraid of nothing. He is very good at constructing things and often builds things that a manufacturer never thought of. That is why I purchased this bucket for him so it is disappointing that it hasn't worked as well as I had hoped.

wrong advertisingFeb 04, 2005

This item is too difficult for a six year old even advertised for 5-8 years old. You cannot return the item once opened, so do not order.
