I bought this toy for my son for his 4th birthday and am now going to buy another for his friend's birthday -- my son loves it. I am not sure what the other reviewer is talking about, I can't imagine why someone would give it to a 2 1/2 year old, it is recommended for ages 4-8 and yes, there are very small pieces.
I found it to be good quality just like his other Playmobile trucks.

my almost 4yr old loves this toy, so does his 2yr old sister been fighting over it all day. it does come apart but you can easily put it back together, which is better than it breaking off. i'd buy this again for 3+ for a gift and will buy more playmobil great pretend play toy

Although my 2 1/2 year old son is really into garbage trucks and garbage cans, he isn't very interested in this toy. It comes apart in many places and is a pain to get back together. The small pieces get lost, and the lid on the garbage can comes off very easily. Not a good value for the money, for us.
