This thing is a monster to construct. There are quite literally over a thousand separate pieces to assemble and many of the required steps are placed in different bags without a cogent, rational system to follow. An example of this is in the assembly of the defibrillator unit (this is Playmobil - detail isn't lacking here): the pieces needed for this accessory were small and lost among countless others in five different bags.
The pieces to interlock the walls and pillars come apart with very little torsion applied - like a little kid leaning over the unit.
If your kid enjoys Playmobil and truly wants to play doctor, the toy is nice - from the kid's point of view. I really did not like putting this together at all. It's a clinic for the kid, but I needed a sanitarium after putting it in her playroom.

This is a Playmobil best! This hospital comes with everything a kid needs to play for literally hours, right down to the tiny cell phone holder that sits on the reception desk! The pieces are, as is usual for Playmobil, extremely detailed and fun to play with. Take a sonogram, "weigh" the baby in the nursery, or give a sick patient an I.V. in the operating room! With my own "test group" of a five year old boy, a ten year old boy, and even a 13 year old girl, this hospital scored major points. It does require assembly, but even that becomes fun if you involve the kids. This toy is well worth the price and is already an all-time favorite at our house.

Playmobil always produces a great product. There are so many lovely little details from bottle warmers to blood transfusions. The clown even has a flower in his hat. The role-playing fun for children is endless, but be prepared to invest a few solid hours in putting this thing together. It requires concentration, sorting, and excellent eyesight not to mention fending off the young child(ren) who is eagerly waiting to get started. It's a bit pricey, but I think it's worth the price if it's what your child is really wanting. And, it will last.

Despite previous reviews warning about the difficulty in putting this together, I went ahead and bought it for my 9 year old daughter. She loves it!! My 15 year old helped her put it together, but the 9 yo managed quite well on her own. It is exquisitely detailed. we all love it.

We bought this for my son for his 4th birthday and he loves it. I agree with the other reviewer that is takes a really long time to put it together; my son was getting very impatient. It is actually kind of fun to construct, though. It keeps my son's interest probably better than any other toy and I think it will for a long time to come. Another downfall is that there are a lot of small pieces if you have little ones in your house. Overall, it is very well made and extremely creative.
