Fun at first, but shoddy materialsMar 21, 2010 This was a really cool race track ... for about 2 weeks.
First, the good:
-- the Darda car provided is really fast! It flies around the track like a blur.
-- the set is not too difficult to construct, though it took a few minutes of meditation on the instructions before they started making sense.
-- my 4-year old boy really loved watching the car flying around the track, and the stunt jump works well, with the car flying through the air.
Now, the bad, which outweighs the good, and is reflected in my neutral rating:
-- the car wears down very quickly. I will usually play this with my son, and in any case, am always in the room when he plays with it. He is NOT abusive to the car, actually quite delicate with it, because he likes it so much. But since Christmas until now, mid-March or so, the car's functioning and speed has noticeably declined.
-- Even worse, the connectors on the bottom of the track are very flimsy. You join track pieces by sliding the ends of the track over a plastic tab, with these connectors that are molded onto the bottom of the track segment holding it in place. It worked fine for about two weeks, until the pressure of the plastic tab in these flimsy connectors became too much, and the slightest bump of the track which caused a little lateral pressure caused the connectors to break. This happened in several portions of the straightaway. Again, I watch my son when he plays with this, and while it gets an occasional innocent knee bump, it's NOT wild uncontrolled play at fault.
I am going to write Darda and complain, because while this is a decent price, it is not a cheap set. The fun value is there when the track is in good condition. But the track itself is shoddily designed (or else the plastic materials are just poor quality), and the car is not durable enough. This will probably be it for me with Darda. Next Christmas we'll be looking to give him his first electric slot car racing track.
Great race setDec 31, 2009 My son received this for Christmas and has really enjoyed it alot. It's very durable and holds up to little boys. We also purchased a "bump and go" car to go with the set and it really added to the fun.

Darda Jump StuntJun 29, 2009 My son loves this toy. We have others from Darda and were looking for another that was different. The Junp Stunt was just what he was looking for. You have to adjust the track by moving it closer or to the right or left of the jump so it will land correctly and continue through the track. Many times it crashes which is even more fun for him. One thing we like about Darda is that you can combine two different Darda units and make a different track or just rearrange one to make it different.

Super stuntsJan 17, 2009 My 2 boys, ages 5&6, love the Darda racetracks. We have the basic, plus extra track, & now this one. The cars are expensive, but the sets are a good deal. They need some help to put the track together, especially a year ago, but are more apt to design their own now. They Love lining up a few of the bump-n'go cars to do relays around this track. Also, we occasionally have to adjust the lift before the jump by putting some cardboard underneath to give it more lift, but works perfectly after that. Great fun.
