This is a great addition to a pirate ship for a child that is into pirates. It is very durable, has lots of pieces to it, including 3 pirates and lockable treasure chest w/treasure. There is room for storage and is great for a take-along toy. My son plays with this every day. It is great for promoting imaginative play.

I wasn't expecting much from this toy, because of the size & price. I have to say, it's one of my son's favorites! He sets it up himself, and plays for a good amount of time with it. It then clean up very nicely into the carrying case.

My 6 year old plays with this for hours. I love that all the pieces can be stored in the island and he can take it along to grandma's house... or actually clean up his toys. I am a fan of playmobile and the quality. My son likes the shelves for hiding treasure chests. Great imagination builder....

My son got this for his 5th birthday last January and I've been very surprised at how much it gets played with. He and his 3 yr old brother will play with this and their pirate ship for a couple hours at a time, quite regularly. The pieces are very small, so it only gets played with when the baby is napping, but we like how all the pieces fit into the carrying case -- which closes very tightly and the little one cannot get it open. We are planning on purchasing more Playmobil pirate sets for Christmas this year, we are very happy with this purchase.

My nephew is four and my daughter is two. They both have the Pirates' Take Along Island. This is a really fun set - the treasure chest has a sliding lock so the little coins can be placed inside and not lost. The cannon really fires. The pirates are cute and don't seem to mind sharing their island with other Playmobil people. There's a little rowboat and oars and a skeleton that glows in the dark. Lots of fun stuff! Obviously the little tiny pieces should be put up if your child still puts things in his/her mouth that he/she shouldn't, but there are plenty of big parts that can be played with safely. No one's gonna choke on a row-boat. One would hope.
