Sturdy, Fun Fire Engine!Dec 18, 2010
By K. Thomson We purchased this for my son's 4th birthday, as he already has a few of the other larger PlayMobil toys (ambulance, rubbish truck and helicopter). As he's young and cannot do it himself, I built the fire engine before wrapping it, as it takes about 40 mins or so (I learnt my lesson before!). My son enjoys playing with the toy as a big truck at the moment (he especially likes the flashing lights and the compartments) and will learn to use the little accessories as he grows, so it's a toy that will keep his interest for a few years.
I did find out that I could have also purchased a remote control unit to use with it - would have been handy to know that at the time of buying so I could have bought the two together and built it at one time. I'll get that as an add-on later.

By Sherry A. Butler Great toy - well worth the cost and time it takes to put this Playmobil toy together. Definitely would buy again.

Way too many parts!!!Sep 12, 2011

"the thinking man's loser"
This toy has way too many parts! I wish I would have returned it instead of putting it together. I'm good at assembling things and yet this took me at least an hour-- and I didn't even finish it! I threw away many of the small plastic pieces and bits of rope, etc. This is for a 5 year old and all these pieces would end up all over the house anyway. I doubt this truck will survive one play session, every piece is snapped on. The wheels alone involve snapping together 5 things per wheel!
Be warned, you will not be able to take this out of the box for your child to start playing with. This is more like a model for a toy train set in my opinion.
