Great Toy Truck With Two Little Playmobil People and Cool Moving PartsSep 16, 2008

Must-have for the recycling-truck-obsessed childSep 03, 2008

Our two-year-old son is obsessed with recycling bins, garbage cans, and of course the trucks that deal with them, so this seemed a no-brainer of a toy to order him. Worked like a charm. He has loved it from the very beginning, and plays with it daily for hours.
The lids do snap off the little bins many times a day in his hands, but they can be snapped back on and so far haven't broken permanently. Same goes for the components of the truck that can be pulled off. Our son can't fix these things himself, but we're able to snap them back together for him pretty easily.
The truck rolls quite well and has lots of moving parts, and you can stuff the interior and the cute little bins with fake garbage/recycling of your own, so it's a lot of fun for a kid who loves this kind of thing. Great toy.

My son received this toy for his third birthday and LOVES it. The suggested age range starts at 4 years but I think that's really just because of the few small parts included (I put away the people's hats because I have an infant too). We found it to be just as suitable for my 3 year old. He views it as a "garbage" truck. It was a total hit with him. I love it too because the quality and durabililty of the product is really excellent. You won't be disappointed with this one!

My 4 yo son wanted another garbage truck for Christmas and since I had already purchased the Tonka garbage truck for him the previous Christmas, I bought him this one. He was happy with it, but it falls apart very easily. After about 9 months of play, I am always finding random pieces of this truck around the house. sometimes the base is in one part of the house while the part that holds the trash is in an entirely different room. I am often found swearing while trying to put the truck back together at my son's request. Meanwhile, the Tonka garbage truck still gets daily play and not a single piece has come off. I think my son loves the fact that it's easy to put the men in and out of the playmobil truck. But if he had to choose between the two, he'd go for the Tonka any day. I don't regret the purchase, but for a little boy who wants to fill a garbage truck with all of his belongings and then drag it all over the house, this is not the right choice.

We bought this toy along with the additional "Sanitation worker with 3 Garbage Bins" for our sons (6 & 3) for Christmas. (The truck already comes with a couple of garbage bins and 2 guys, but we didn't want any fighting ;-) They absolutely ADORE this set: they thought it was the #1 gift of the whole Christmas. The guys' hands can hold the bins, and the garbage truck can hold & lift the bins to dump into the truck's container. They haven't gone one day without playing with this. They even load up "real" trash--wrappers, torn paper--to load in the bins and then dump in the real garbage. Good quality Playmobil set that they get HOURS of use from; great open-ended play. Often one son is the garbage truck operator, and the other is at his "house" with the extra bins waiting for pick-up. I'm thrilled we found this!
