We bought this for my grandson to give to him on his 1st birthday and he really enjoys watching my husband make it spin. My husband had been looking in toy stores for an "old fashioned top" as he called it - one like he had as a child, but he could not find one. I got online and found this on Amazon (what can't you find on Amazon???) and we were happy with the price so we ordered it. It arrived promptly and is just as described. It spins with ease and hums when it gets going really fast, and it spins for such a long time, too! We thought it would be awhile before our grandson could spin it himself, but in no time at all he could actually make the thing spin by himself (he's 14 months now). If you are looking for a good old fashioned type spinning top this one's really nice and works well.
