My in-laws gave this set, along with the tractor set, to my 21 month old for Christmas. It is an ADORABLE toy and fantastic for imaginative play! I rank Playmobil up with Lego Duplos as the two toy sets that every household needs to have. These two sets (the meadow and tractor) go so well together and I have been so impressed with the thought that has gone in to the making of these toys. I love that the little people bend at the waist and sit on the horse and in the cart. The animals fit well in the cart and are sturdy and well made. I HIGHLY recommend this set (along with the tractor) and plan on getting another set or two for my son for his 2nd birthday!

Another Fine Playmobil 123 SetFeb 02, 2010

My two year old daughter is quite the fan of Playmobil's 123 line. So am I, to be honest. What you get is a lot of the neat Playmobil stuff, without the extensive clean-up of small pieces that comes with the highly detailed, traditional 4+ line of Playmobil.
My daughter received this set for her birthday and, as is the case with all the sets she owns, she loves it. Of particular interest to her are the children, which she obviosuly identifies more with than the adult figures. This set comes with a little boy and girl, and this thrills her to no end. The horse can either be ridden alone, or hooked to the little wagon, which accommodates one person and the box of food for the animals.
There is also an adorable pear tree, and a sheep, pig and cow in this set.
It may not look like there's much to these sets, but they really do please both my girls. My youngest often takes the people with her on store trips and has integrated them into just about every play area of the house from the kitchen to her pull-toys, to the buildings she constructs with her Legos and blocks.
I highly recommend any of the 123 sets as an initiation into role playing. They are more versatile and open-ended than first glance might suggest.
This set is made in Malta, for those concerned with country of origin.

This is the first time i have bought Playmobil toys and i was surprised to see how little there is to a boxful. However, my 16mth old seems to love it and is obsessed with the lady having to sit on the cart! We tend to combine the set with the safari set just to make it seem more substantial. It would be nice to have a few more farm animals and extras in each set.
