5Great puzzle!Jun 26, 2001

I bought this for my son when he turned two and he had some trouble putting it together. However, as the months passed he kept trying to figure it out. Well, he got it! He is now able to put all four puzzles together without having to look at the back of each piece for the guide. I no longer have to help him put it away in order, he can do it all by himself. I am getting the construction and dinosaur versions of this puzzle for his next birthday.

4Love "Lights, Camera, Interaction" products.Nov 21, 2001
By CHA
I had purchased this puzzle set of 4, for another child's Bday, and had it in a closet. But I found George mastering puzzles quickly, so I introduced this to him when he was 25 mos.old, much earlier than I would have expected. But George is analytical, and organized in his thinking, and has mastered all four puzzles by his 3rd Bday.I did work with him for one year on how to connect edges first("these are corners"etc.)and look at the scenery, etc. Amazing concepts that George understood. The pictures tell stories,so the children understand the sequence of the smallness. As adults,we think it's hard because it's smaller in size, but it's not. Today, I look at this item as the best gift for any 2-5 year old [...].
The 4 puzzles are fun,you can "slide" them off the platter like a pizza, but you have to play with your child to see how great these "Lights,Camera,Action" products are. This is my 5th one, and my favorite for this age group(so far!) The backs are shape-
coded for sorting, into a 4/box,so you can practice shapes, as well as "fire engine", "School bus".And putting the shapes away is the best part.=) An excellent [...] gift, made of wood.
And p.s......George is learning disabled.

5What a great deal!!Jul 18, 2003

My one dissapointment is that the puzzles are much smaller than they appeared to be in the picuture when I bought this product.

My two-year-old doesn't seem to mind though.

Otherwise, this is a great deal. This is the next logical step for the 2-to-3 year-old who likes peg puzzles, especially the ones where there is a single image divided up into pieces, and especially if you've got a little guy who lives for fire trucks, school buses, airplanes, and choo-choo trains!

5I love Melissa and Doug!Apr 21, 2003

Their puzzles are well-made and hold up to my little 3-year-old puzzle fanatic. My ONLY criticism of this set is that the box is completely unreasonable for a child of 3 or 4. (The lid is hard to open and the compartments in the box are only barely adequate. As a grownup I got frustrated trying to fit them back into the box! A child needs to be able to chuck it in and put it away without a lot of assistance or all the need for meticulous fiddling.)

In general I love their puzzles and toys, but this is the second time when a box has only barely fit its contents without any additional space.

5Great first puzzles for toddlersFeb 10, 2003
By K. Rodman "Marlowe's Mama"
We got this puzzle for our 27 mos old for Christmas this year and it was hands down her favorite puzzle. Amidst constant "I do it", Sam had mastered these puzzles in less than a day and has put them together at least once a day every since. They are durable and well crafted and I know a Mom had something to do with these as each individual puzzle has a identifying mark on the back of it's pieces. Much easier to sort at the end of the day. Our baby has found pieces of these and stuck them in her mouth and she and the pieces have survived. One thing I'm not fond of with these puzzles is that there is only one way the pieces can go back into the box. It took me longer to figure out how to put the pieces back than it did for Sam to put the puzzle together. The portability of these puzzles is also a plus. Sam quickly moved on to more complex puzzles, but still insists on playing with these every day.
