My Life As Fish Tank Play Set for 18” Dolls, 19 Pieces, Purple

My 6 year old grandson always looks at the fish and tanks for sale when his Mommy takes him to the pet store but he hasn't been allowed to get any (yet), so I thought he might enjoy this play fish tank set and he loves it! After opening the package he removed all the parts and set them out, then opened the "mystery fish" bag and was super excited to find he got a seahorse, because he had just visited the local Aquarium/Museum and was able to touch a real, live seahorse. He then had no trouble at all putting it together and after we filled it with water and put batteries in, he turned it on and was immediately overjoyed - it lights up nicely and all the little fishes immediately started "swimming" around (not too fast, not too slow) as the water circulated. They wiggle and move up and down as they go around and they don't just go in the same direction all the time, they move a lot so it looks more realistic. Now and then one fish will get stuck in a corner briefly but right away another comes along and bumps it, then off they both go. It is a decent size (measuring 7"x3.25" and 5" tall), there are 4 possible "background" designs to use and switch around if desired, it is quiet (no motor noise at all), easy for a child to play with (e.g., take off the top to put a fish in or scoop one out with the little net) and my grandson entertained himself with this toy for a couple of hours, including finding other small plastic/foam items he already had to add to it. He said it was a "two thumbs up" toy.

This play fishtank is all the fun of a fishtank without the chores and mess! My daughter was thrilled when it came in and she immediately started setting it up. The instructions were easy to follow and the tank is able to be customized with different decorations that are all provided in this set. The only thing I would change is making the backslash waterproof, she got a bit of water on one of them and was sad it had a splotch. The neatest part of this fishtank is the little fish that come with it actually move around because of the fan (you'll need triple A batteries) and my kids are both totally entranced by it. This is play set is definitely a winner, we're getting my son one too!

The best part of the tank is the fish food shakes like a little maraca!! All the pieces are removable and can be rearranged. It's super cute and durable! My daughter loves it. I love that the top of the fish tank has storage for the disk food and any pieces not being used right then. The light is a cute idea, but it's a dark yellow glow so we don't really use it, a bright white led would have been cool. Seriously though, the fish food is so cute!!
