If you buy only one Elphaba doll, this is it.
Mattel has made several dolls in their line for the film adaptation of Wicked with FIVE Elphaba variants with different outfits.
This Deluxe Elphaba doll is dressed as the character appears during the end of the film, specifically during "Defying Gravity."
It's a green doll wearing boots wearing a textured dark purple dress with a textured black cape. She comes with a book bag and her hat, as well as the iconic broom. (So far, this is the only Elphaba doll with the broom.) The doll includes an easily assembled stand so the doll is ready for display whether you keep it in the box or remove it. And the box is very beautifully designed, so you might want to hang onto it even if you decide to remove the doll.
The doll is a very good representation of actress Cynthia Erivo, just green, like the character. Her hair is a little coarse and textured to simulate the braids the character has in the film, and it's also tied in a ponytail as seen in the film.
The design of the character very much echoes the iconic design of Margaret Hamilton's Wicked Witch of the West from MGM's musical film adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. This is the point of the scene, the icon has been born, and it's represented well in this doll.
I'm collecting the variants, but if you were just buying one Elphaba doll, this is it. You get the character looking the most iconic at the finale of the movie, ready to display in your collection or play with.
